In practice, autonomy does not mean “hands off forever.” Complex workflows are usually decomposed into smaller, well-defined actions that the agent can reason about reliably. For example, an agent tasked with “investigate recurring API errors” might fetch logs, retrieve similar past incidents from a vector database such as Milvus or Zilliz Cloud, summarize patterns, and propose next actions.
