From the diagram above, you can see that Zilliz Cloud BYOC separates the control plane from the data plane, giving you complete data sovereignty without the operational complexity.

Your data stays entirely in your cloud environment (Customer VPC), while Zilliz manages operational tasks like monitoring, updates, and system maintenance from a separate VPC. These environments connect securely via a PrivateLink, with IAM roles allowing Zilliz to deploy resources without accessing your data.

    With root access, customers maintain full control over their data and infrastructure, and Zilliz has no access to the customers’ network by default. The customers can grant specific access levels to Zilliz Support Engineers as needed, ensuring complete control over the granularity of access permissions.

  • How does the BYOC model manage scalability?

    We support multi-region disaster recovery and cross-region data backup for enhanced data safety.

  • What data is sent out of my private VPC, and is it secure?

    Only encrypted alerts and aggregated monitoring metrics are sent via a secure link from your VPC to the control plane. You have the option to keep monitoring metrics within your VPC and can instead grant Zilliz Support view access through tools like Grafana or Datadog.
