Accelerate your migration experience from Milvus to Zilliz Cloud
Over the last year, we have been working diligently on advancing our new product: Zilliz Cloud, a fully managed vector database. Zilliz Cloud provides an out-of-box Milvus experience based on a fully managed cloud service, freeing you from the headache of database maintenance. In addition, you can choose any database size and pay for what you have used only. As a result, migration to Zillz Cloud has become an attractive value proposition for our customers.
Therefore, we’re thrilled to announce the availability of the new migration feature from Milvus to Zilliz Cloud. With our new migration feature, you can seamlessly move your local Milvus to the cloud with just a few clicks. No more worrying about backing up your files or losing data due to hardware failures. Our migration ensures your data is safe, secure, and always accessible.
The migration from Milvus to Zilliz Cloud is easy-to-use. Customers can now migrate their Milvus collections with a click of a button, as well as data import and index build. This migration capability creates a seamless experience that minimizes impact on downstream applications and manual tasks, allowing customers to leverage the full capability suite of Zilliz Cloud. Currently, the migration supports Milvus 1.x and 2.x.
Get Started with the Migration tool.
Migration is free to Enterprise users who have subscribed to the Zilliz Cloud enterprise plan. First, navigate to “Migrations” within the “Database” tab. You can create a migration from there by importing the Milvus folder locally or in S3. After the status of the migration job changes from MIGRATING to SUCCESSFUL, the migration process ends. Zilliz Cloud will automatically index your migrated collection using AUTO_INDEX. To learn how to prepare your migration data, check out the documentation to learn more.
