Zilliz Cloud Now Available in Tokyo on AWS, GCP, and Azure

Oct 26, 20262 min read

Zilliz Cloud is now available in Tokyo on AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. With the addition of Google Cloud asia-northeast1 and Azure Japan East, Japanese teams can now run production vector search on the cloud of their choice — right where their infrastructure already lives.

Japan is one of the most advanced enterprise AI markets in Asia. Teams across automotive, financial services, manufacturing, and technology are adopting retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI, and semantic search at scale. Tokyo is the default cloud region for most of them, and Zilliz Cloud now meets them on all three major providers.

With this launch, teams building in Japan get:

  • Your choice of cloud in Tokyo. Whether you run on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, you can now deploy Zilliz Cloud in Tokyo without switching providers or routing through overseas regions.
  • Data residency within Japan. For organizations subject to Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) or internal data governance policies, keeping vector data in-country is straightforward. Deploy in Tokyo and your data stays in Japan.
  • One-step migration. Moving from Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate, Elasticsearch, or self-hosted Milvus? Our migration service handles the heavy lifting.
